This is to help out new players understand some terms and Club Penguin lingo.

Astro Barrier: an arcade game located in the second floor of the Night Club; view game guide.

Aunt Arctic: Aunt Arctic is a penguin who writes the column “Ask Aunt Arctic” in the Penguin Times.

Background: backgrounds are pictures that go behind your penguin’s picture on your player card. They cost 60 coins apiece; new backgrounds come out each month.

Ballistic Biscuit: a game located at the dock where the object of the game is to dodge various items and debris; view game guide.

Bambadee: Bambadee is a stowaway on Rockhopper’s ship because he didn’t like all the attention he got on the island of Club Penguin. It turned out that everyone was jealous of his friendship bracelet.

Beach: the beach is an area in Club Penguin. You can also find the Lighthouse. Rockhopper also lands his ship, the Migrator here.

Beacon: this is an area located at the at the top of the lighthouse. You can play Jet Pack Adventure by clicking on the door at the far right side of the Beacon. Rockhopper uses the light from here to help him find his way to the Beach.

Bean Counter: a game located at the Coffee Shop where the object of the game is to catch the java bags that fly out of the truck while avoiding other items; view game guide.

Better Igloos: this is the furniture catalog. Members can furniture from the catalog to put into their igloos.

Billybob: Billybob is a Club Penguin moderator that is usually seen posting news on the Club Penguin Developer Blog (http://blog.clubpenguin.com/).

Billy G: a drummer in the Club Penguin Band; see also Club Penguin Band.

Boiler Room: this is the basement of the Night Club. The file cabinet inside has older issues of the Penguin Times. The Boiler Room had once been dark because it had no electricity to light it up.

Book Room: this is the second floor of the Coffee Shop; you can play mancala and view books in the library.

Buddy List: this is a list that each and every individual player has that contains the name of each of their buddies and their online status. It also shows who you choose to ignore or those who are in the room you are currently in.

Cart Surfer: this is game that can be accessed though the Mine. The object of the game is to perform tricks while riding the cart though the mine without falling off. View game guide.

Cave: (also known as the pool) this is a secret room that’s located underneath the plaza. You can enter the cave by going through the manhole at the plaza.

Catchin’ Waves: a game located at the surf hut in the Cove where the object of the game is to ride a wave while performing various tricks to earn first place; view game guide.

Cheats: there aren’t actually any “cheats” on Club Penguin, but they are actually more like secrets to the site.

Clock Tower: this is a clock (shown in Penguin Standard Time) that is located at the Snow Forts. The target on the side of the tower helps keep the clock running because every so often, a penguin would throw a snowball at it and make it spin.

Clothes: these are items that are mostly used by members that you can put on your penguin to wear. Some items do various things when you choose the dance action; view Clothing Actions Page.

Club Penguin: a MMOG (Massive Multiplayer Online Game) where kids/tweens can play as a penguin on an island called Club Penguin.

Club Penguin Band: this is the main band of Club Penguin; they have four members (Franky – Guitarist, Billy G – Drummer, Stompin’ Bob – Cellist and Unknown – Tambourine).

Club Penguin Developer Blog: this is the official news blog of Club Penguin. See also Billybob. Link: http://blog.clubpenguin.com/.

Coffee Shop: this is a shop located at the Town. This is also the oldest room in Club Penguin.

Coin: this is the official currency of Club Penguin. Each coin has a engraving of Fluffy the Fish. Players can earn coins from games and sometimes special events.

Colour Party: a colour party is a type of party where every penguin is the same colour, and maybe even identical in clothing.

Cove: a location opened to public on May 29, 2007 where you can socialize, swim and play Catchin’ Waves.

Dance Club: see Night Club.

Dance Lounge: the Dance Lounge is a room located on the second floor of the Nightclub. You can play Thin Ice and Astro Barrier.

Dock: this is a location that resembles a beach-like appearance. You can play Ballistic Biscuit here.

Dojo: this is a secret area that can be only accessed by going to the map clicking the mountain peak on the right.

Emote: these are ecomotions that appear in your penguins speech bubble by using key combinations or selecting an emote from the menu.

Find Four: this is a game that you can find at the Ski Lodge and the Lodge Attic where the object of the game is to get four in a row of your color chip. View game guide.

Fluffy the Fish: Fluffy the Fish is a lost pet that belongs to Zippo Penguin; the fish appears in several places in Club Penguin such as games, furniture, coins and more.

F.I.S.H: this stands for Factual Informative Spy Handbook. F.I.S.H. is the P.S.A.’s handbook.

Forest: an area on the map that was opened on May 18, 2007.

Franky: a guitarist in the Club Penguin Band; see also Club Penguin Band.

Fred: a clockwork bird (also known as Fred the Clockwork Cuckoo) that pops out of the cuckoo clock at the Ski Lodge every 30 minutes.

Furniture: furniture are items that can be placed in your igloo; only members can buy these items.

G.: Gary, or G. as most know him by, is the Town Inventor. Gary occupies his time by making new and improved inovations for everyone in Club Penguin to enjoy. His inventions comprise of: Jet packs, Snow Fort Clock Tower, AC 3000 (seen in the lodge attic and lighthouse durring and after eth snow party), and the Pizzatron 3000. Gary is also the head of the P.S.A (Penguin Secret Agency) You mainly get to see him in agent missions. (Contributed by Quazar)

Gift Shop: the Gift Shop is a shop located at the Town. This is one of the many places where you can buy clothes for your penguin. Items sold here are also sold at the Sport Shop.

Glitch: this is usually an error or “bug” in Club Penguin that allows you to play the game in an unusual or different way than usual. View Glitches page.

HQ: the HQ (headquarters); see Spy Headquarters

Iceberg: the iceberg is a secret location that you can only get to by using the map. There are rumors that you can tip the iceberg, but it’s only a rumor, and it’s not possible.

Ice Fishing: this is a game that is located behind the green door at the Ski Lodge. The object of the game is to catch as many fish as you can; view game guide.

Ice Rink: this is an area where penguins can play a game of hockey by sliding into the puck and hitting it into the nets.

Igloo: an igloo is a house for your penguin that you automatically acquire after you enter Club Penguin for the first time.

Igloo Upgrades: a catalog for members to buy flooring, walls and igloos.

Ignore List: this is a list that you choose for other players to be in when you don’t want to see their chat text or emotes. If you report a player, they are also put into that list. See also buddy list.

Jet Pack Adventure: this is a game that is located at the far right side of the beacon of the lighthouse. The object of the game is to get to the very end of each level by collection as many coins as you can without running out of fuel. It is rumored that you can gain 1000 coins if you complete the game without collecting any coins along the way. View game guide.

Library: the library is a book shelf located in the Book Room.

Lighthouse: this is a building located at the Beach that opened in September 2006 after penguins decided to restore it after a large flood 2 years before.

Lodge Attic: the lodge attic is located on the second story of the Ski Lodge; you can also play Find Four here.

Mancala: this is a game that you can play by going to the Book Room of the Coffee Shop. The object of the game is to collect as many stones as you can to win before someone’s side of the board is clear. View game guide.

Map: the map is used to go to certain places in Club Penguin.

Maxlowe: this is a moderator on Club Penguin.

Medals: these are items that can be won by Secret Agents after they complete a secret mission.

Member: players that pay a monthly fee to access certain features of the site.

Migrator: this is Rockhopper’s ship. You can go here to buy his items every few months.

Mine: this is a secret area that lets you play Cart Surfer.

Mine Shack: this is a secret area that you can only get to by using the map. You can also get there by finishing Cart Surfer. It leads to the Mine.

Moderator: these are real life people that work for Club Penguin in development and help keep it safe by banning players who break the rules. See also Billybob or Maxlowe.

Moschomicrotherium pufflei: scientific name for Puffle.

Mountain: the mountain is an area where the game Sled Racing is held.

Mullet: this is a fish that can be captured at the end of Ice Fishing for extra points.

New Herizon Interactive: this is the group that developed Club Penguin and created it. Link: http://www.nhinteractive.com/.

Night Club: the Night Club is a building located in the Town. It is a place for penguins to socialize and dance on the dance floor. The stairs on the far right lead to the Dance Lounge.

Party: a party is a celebration held by the penguins of Club Penguin that gives out free items. See also Colour Party. In Penguin Chat 3 (old version of Club Penguin), you were able to become one.

Penguin: penguins are the main species of the game (along with puffles) and a new one is created every time someone registers an account. Every who joins Club Penguin has a penguin used as their avatar.

Penguin Chat 3: this is the old version of Club Penguin (March 31, 2005 – October 28, 2005); see also ninja.

Penguin Poll: this is a poll on the Club Penguin Home Page that visitors can answer and the question is changed frequently. The first poll was introduced on July 26, 2007. See Penguin Poll page.

Penguin Standard Time: this is the standard time that is used on the island of Club Penguin. The time is also identical to Pacific Standard Time.

Penguin Style: this is the clothing catalog that members can buy clothes, flag pins, backgrounds and colours from.

Penguin Times: this is the local Club Penguin newspaper that comes out weekly on every Thursday. You can view older issues of the Penguin Times in the Boiler Room.

Pet Shop: this is a building located at the Plaza. You can buy puffles here. You can also play Puffle Roundup.

Pin: a pin is a collectable item that you can choose to put in the left top corner of your player card. A new pin is hidden every week and you must find its location in order to obtain it. Some pins a buyable, but only some can be purchased only by members.

Pirate Catalog: this is the catalog that Rockhopper uses to sell his items. There is always one item that members and non-members can get for free.

Pizza Parlor: this is a building that is located at the Plaza. Penguins like to pretend to serve pizza here while wearing the pizza apron and the chef hat. You can also play the game Pizzatron 3000 by clicking on the kitchen entrance.

Pizzatron 3000: this is a game located behind the kitchen door in the Pizza Parlor. The object of the game is to create pizzas within the time limit. View game guide.

Player Card: player cards are the profiles that can be viewed by clicking on a player. You can choose several options such as visit an igloo or add/remove that player from your buddy list.

Plaza: this is an area that holds the Pet Shop and the Pizza Parlor.

Post Card: these are cards that you can send to other players for 10 coins each. New ones come out each month.

P.S.A: P.S.A stands for Penguin Secret Agency; this is Club Penguins spy group. Their headquarters is the Spy Headquarters.

Puffle: this is a small creature that penguins adopt to be their pet. You can buy them at the Pet Shop located at the Plaza. It’s scientific name is Moschomicrotherium pufflei. See Puffle Care Guide.

Puffle Roundup: this is a game that is located behind the door in the Pet Shop at the Plaza. The object of the game is to herd the escaped puffles into the pen without having them escape. View game guide.

Rockhopper: this is a pirate who sails his ship (the Migrator) to the Beach on Club Penguin. He sells stuff he obtains from Rockhopper Island.

Rockhopper Island: an island owned by Rockhopper and is inhabited by red puffles. This is where he finds items to sell back at Club Penguin.

Rockhopper’s Journal: this is Rockhopper’s diary that contains stories from him about his journeys overseas.

Secret Agent: these are penguins who are chosen by the moderators of Club Penguin who they feel are safe and responsible enough to keep the island a safe place. These penguins are the only ones who can enter the Spy Headquarters.

Secret Missions: these are missions that Secret Agents solve to earn medals.

Server: a server is a world that can only hold a certain amount of players. There are four big servers that hold the smaller ones (United States, Canada, United Kingdom and Australia).

Ship Hold: this is the inside of the Migrator (Rockhopper’s ship).

Ski Lodge: this is a building located in the Ski Village. You can play Ice Fishing by clicking on the green door and Find Four by clicking on the various Find Four tables.

Ski Village: this is an area where you can find the Sport Shop, the tour booth and the Ski Lodge.

Sled Racing: this is a game located on the Mountain. The object of the game is to get to the bottom of the mountain. View game guide.

Snow Forts: this is an area on Club Penguin that players can go to and have a snow fight.

Sport Shop: this is a building located in the Ski Village. Penguins can buy clothes from here that are also sold at the Gift Shop.

Spy Headquarters: this is also known as the P.S.A. headquarters. This is a secret room of Club Penguin that only Secret Agents can enter. There are several T.V. monitors in there that you can click on to quickly go to that location.

Spy Phone: this is a phone that all Secret Agents have. It has the ability to transport you to almost any area in Club Penguin.

Stompin’ Bob: a cellist in the Club Penguin Band; see also Club Penguin Band.

Thin Ice: an arcade located on the second floor of the Night Club. View game guide.

Toolbar: this is the blue bar at the bottom of the screen when you play Club Penguin. You can use this to chat, throw snowballs and more.

Tour Booth: see Tour Guide.

Tour Guide: this is a program to help newbies of Club Penguin learn more about the island. You can become a tour guide by taking a quiz at the tour booth in the Ski Village.

Town: this is the main center of Club Penguin. Here you will find the Coffee Shop, the Nightclub and the Gift Shop.

Yarr: a red puffle that belongs to Rockhopper.
